The Annexe
An annexe that sits at farthest end of a lush green site, consists of 3 bedrooms, high ceilings and a gorgeous lounge with pitched roof.
The client wanted an annexe built opposite their main house, the annexe was to serve as a place for guest as well as hold large events.
The challenge was to create a building that fit seamlessly with its existing surroundings and reflect the existing house. This was achieved by using high pitched roofs with clean white masses that reflects the existing house.
The annexe is designed using two masses that inclosed a hard courtyard for barbecues and bon fires. The main volume would hold a large living room with a fire place, an open kitchen with an island that would act as a breakfast counter and a master bed. The second mass hold two additional rooms of same sizes. The two blocks are connected with a glass corridor that looks into the main courtyard. The annexe uses large windows with black borders acts as picture frames to allow the lush landscape to filter into the house.
